Another F.I.R.S.T. Place Finish
Nov 30 2009
Pannar proved once again there’s a powerful edge in having its own region-specific breeding and research program developing genetics. The proof is in the recently-released harvest summary by F.I.R.S.T., or the Farmer’s Independent Research of Seed Technologies, the nation’s premier third-party resource for performance data.
A Pannar triple-stack topped the gross income in the 2009 South Dakota testing region performance summary. F.I.R.S.T. tallies gross income by the dollar value of the grain less drying costs to reach 15% grain moisture.
Selecting products with the highest gross income is the surest path to maximizing profit potential, notes Pannar CEO Barry Brown. “Yield potential is vital but drydown and grain quality are also extremely important functions of performance,” says Brown. “These test results validate the per-acre profitability edge of a Pannar hybrid.”
Last year, a Pannar hybrid topped a similar performance summary in yield. The plots planted by F.I.R.S.T. are in multiple replications, with comprehensive and applicable information generated for growers.
